On June 29, 2015 H.E. Mr. Qi Zhenhong, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain, presented his credentials to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain. H.E.Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, H.E.Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E.Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatalla Al Khalifa, Minister for Follow-up at the Royal Court attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Qi firstly conveyed the cordial greetings from H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of China to King Hamad, and extended his personal best wishes for Ramadan. King Hamad expressed his thanks and requested Ambassador Qi to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi.

King Hamad warmly welcomed Ambassador Qi to assume his new post. The Bahrain and China peoples have good relationships form history, and bilateral relations have achieved a lot since the establishment of diplomatic ties 26 years ago. The successful visit to China in 2013 made a profound good impression for him. Now, the exchange and cooperation of all fields become more comprehensive and get more achievement. The Bahrain government and himself would like to work with Chinese side closely, to push the bilateral relations get more success and more fruits.

Ambassador Qi said, China appreciates and supports that His Majesty wisely leads the government and people of Bahrain, actively committed to safeguarding national stability, speeding up economic development, rising up living conditions of the people, and plays important role on maintaining regional peace and stability. The China-Bahrain relations have been developing smoothly in 26 years, with constantly strengthened political mutual trust, expanded pragmatic cooperation and closer communication & coordination over the international and regional affairs.

China highly prioritizes the development of bilateral relations, and believes that with the joint efforts of both side, under the framework of "One Belt & One Road" Initiative, the friendly cooperative relations between China and Bahrain will achieve more development and benefit more peoples.

Ambassador Qi arrived Bahrain on April 20, 2015, and presented the copy of credentials to H.E. Shaikh Khalid, Minister of Foreign Affairs on April 26.
